James Cochran, President, CEO
JRC Design Build was founded by James R. Cochran in 1985. Jim remains personally involved in every aspect of the company, ensuring each project reflects his lifelong commitment to integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Jim began his career working alongside his father, where he learned the fundamentals of building and craftsmanship. After the age of 20, he continued to refine his skills the hard way — through decades of hands-on experience and dedication to doing things right.
Today, JRC Design Build is recognized for its enduring quality, attention to detail, and a team of skilled craftsmen who share the same passion for excellence that started it all.
Geoff Talley, Vice President,
Superintendant
As Vice President and Superintendent, Geoff Talley oversees every project from the foundation up. With more than 40 years of experience in the field, Geoff brings a depth of expertise that ensures each home reflects the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Geoff’s hands-on leadership keeps him fully engaged with both clients and field teams, ensuring clear communication and flawless execution at every stage. His dedication to his craft and commitment to JRC Design Build set him apart.

Brian Hoder, Master Carpenter, Trim Specialist
Brian began his career with JRC more than 25 years ago as a trim carpenter. Over the years, he has refined his craft and grown into his current role as Lead Carpenter and Trim Specialist at JRC Design Build. Through his exceptional skill and attention to detail, Brian has created hundreds of custom-built pieces during his time with the company. He takes the time to listen carefully to each customer, ensuring their vision is brought to life with precision and care. Committed to excellence, Brian takes pride in achieving complete customer satisfaction with every project. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor adventures such as fishing and sports. Brian looks forward to the uniqueness of each project and is dedicated to ensuring every JRC customer is thrilled with the final result.
Tyler Holfeld, Project Leader
As Superintendent and Project Leader, Tyler takes great pride in delivering exceptional quality and experiences to our valued clients. A native of Arlington Heights, Tyler began his journey with JRC Design Build 12 years ago as a framer and has grown into an integral member of our leadership team.
A devoted family man and proud father of two young daughters, Tyler also gives back through community volunteer work. Within JRC, he brings that same dedication and passion to his multiple roles — serving as Trim and Punch Coordinator, Warranty Specialist, and Customer Service Representative, to name a few.
Tyler’s commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and drive to exceed expectations have made him a true asset to JRC Design Build. He looks forward to continuing to serve our customers and community for many years to come.
Kevin Purdom, LEED AP for Homes Licensed Architect
Kevin earned his master’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas, with a minor in Environmental Studies. He has proudly contributed to sustainable industrial, office, and residential projects, including designing award-winning LEED Platinum homes in Lawrence, KS, recognized for their innovative design and sustainability.
Since joining JRC Design Build, Kevin has worked on over 300 projects.
As JRC’s Head Architect, Kevin takes great satisfaction in turning his clients’ visions into
beautiful, functional homes they will truly enjoy. He is genuinely passionate about creating living spaces that are comfortable and tailored to each individual’s needs.
Kevin is the creator of your home and wholeheartedly loves what he creates!
Jennifer Foleno, Interior Designer- Stylist
Jennifer brings over 15 years of experience as an Interior Designer and Home Stylist. With clients ranging from New York City to Chicago, she approaches every project as a unique opportunity to create something truly special.
Passionate about her role at JRC, Jennifer takes great pride in listening closely to her clients to ensure their needs and desires are met on both functional and aesthetic levels. She enjoys building personal connections with each client to deliver designs that not only reflect their individual style but also enhance everyday living.
Jennifer provides expert guidance through all design selections during construction and
continues to assist with décor and furnishings, ensuring your space is perfectly tailored to become the home of your dreams.
Ella Mett, Business Manager
Ella is the backbone of JRC Design Build.
She leads the team in all administrative and customer-related services, ensuring the company operates with precision, accuracy, and unwavering commitment.

Destiny Frickensmith, Architectural Designer
Destiny’s passion for design and construction began at a young age, growing up and working in her family business. This early experience inspired her to pursue a career in the field. She holds an AAS in Construction, a BAS in Psychology, OSHA-30 certification, and brings years of hands-on carpentry and design experience to her work.
At JRC Design Build, Destiny supports clients through every stage of design, from floor plan detailing to managing the permitting process. Her extensive expertise in design software allows her to create detailed 3D models that bring projects to life before construction begins.
Destiny’s role is to transform your vision into reality with focused attention to detail, ensuring you feel confident and informed every step of the way. She is dedicated to delivering exceptional results and helping you achieve the home you have always envisioned.
